I. THE DAY OF YOUR RETURN The Green Festival of Szeged

BACK TO PRODUCTION The bird world of the Elisabeth grove of New Szeged The walk is headed by Nikoletta Verseczki, a member of the Csongrád County Local Group of the Hungarian Society for Biology.

The Erzsébet-liget of Újszeged is the largest park in Szeged. Due to its size and variety of species and age-based wooded vegetation, it is a prominent bird habitat within the city. The Csongrád County Local Group of the Hungarian Bird and Nature Conservation Association (MME) has been monitoring the natural values of the area for decades.

In the place of today's grove, it used to be a booming precinct, adapted in the late 1800s. It is still surrounded by giant platforms with lawn clearings, with old linden, oak and maple. The area was significantly modified in 2018. The landscape architects also included the local group of MME Csongrád County, as besides the other goals, it was important to maintain and expand the bird-friendly function of the grove. In this context, 3 bird-waterers, 2 large guillotines and 50 new lairs were placed in addition to the existing 25.

During the nearly one hour walk, we can get to know the bird world of the area, as well as all the other interesting things that come before our eyes, as well as the main activities of the local group of MME Csongrád County.

The participants will also receive a small gift! Meeting at 4.45 p.m. at the oaks of Queen Elizabeth (Sisi).

The program is free of charge, but is subject to prior registration. You can apply at: balint.muvhaz@int.ritek.hu or on the facebook page of the cultural house (https://www.facebook.com/ujszegedimuvelodesihaz).

Everyone's welcome.
